A blog for me… but I guess you can read it too...
So I've kept a journal since I was 11 years old. Yes, one of those books with lined paper that you actually write in with a pen. I stopped writing in my mid-twenties, conveniently, right around when my husband and I started dating, so some of my life's best moments were never documented, arg! But considering that I wrote for so many years, I now have a collection of about ten hard copy journals just sitting around waiting to be read. It is my goal when I retire, to go through those books, pick out my best entries and type them up, compiling them into one long novel of my life. I don't care to have it published for the whole world to read, as I'm pretty sure people would find it rather boring, but it's just something I'd like to do for myself and for my kids.
The inspiration for starting this blog stemmed from the birth of my first baby girl. I found myself asking my own mother countless questions about her pregnancies and babies. "Did you have any back pain when you were pregnant with us?" "When did we sleep through the night?" "What did you do to relieve yourself from the pains of nursing?" "Did you have any baby blues?" And most of the time, I was answered with a sad, guilty look and an "I don't reeeemeeember." My mom, like me, kept a journal for much of her life, and she allowed me to read them when I was the same age that she was. But also like me, she had stopped writing when life got too busy. She was pretty good about writing when I was a baby (since I was the oldest) but with 3 additional kids, there was not much time to continue. ANYWAY… I just want to document some of the memorable parts of my pregnancy and early motherhood so that someday I can respond to my daughter's questions with something better than, "I don't remember." And since ultimately, it is my life-long goal to transcribe all my pre-existing journals, an online blog seemed like a much better idea than handwriting.
So read on, follow me, share whatever posts you like… or don't. I'm not looking to become famous or solve the world's problems. This is just a blog for me, but if you want, you can read it too.

You go girl....I wish they had something like this when I was a young mom. It would've helped me to help you....just remember that the hard times of motherhood and pregnancy are easily forgotten because of the immeasurably joyful times you share together....there's nothing like it!
